Each term BISC arranges a programme of events and activities for international students in Bristol to enjoy. We believe that it is important to take a break from your studies to explore the country that you are studying in and BISC provides the perfect opportunity to explore historic cities and places of interest, as well as promoting cross cultural understanding and exchange through weekly events and cultural evenings.

We publish a different coloured programme for each term : Autumn (red), Spring (green) and Summer (blue). These are widely distributed within the Universities and colleges and are always available at BISC, or you can view up to date information right here on our website.

Our trips and events are open to all international students studying at either of Bristol's Universities or colleges or language schools. Whilst we do allow others to join in our events (including husbands/wives, or visiting family or friends of international students), priority is always given to international students studying in Bristol.

Our trips are also very popular, so booking in advance is highly recommended. If you book on-line, you will receive an email to confirm your booking. Your must pay within 7 days of booking to confirm your place or we may offer it to someone else.

LONDON
Saturday 15th October
Our first BISC trip of the term takes us into the heart of England’s capital city. In the morning there is a guided sightseeing coach tour with a professional tour guide. Windsor Castle is an official residence of The Queen and the largest occupied castle in the world. BONFIRE NIGHT
Saturday 5th November
Join in this great British tradition of having a bonfire and learn some history about Guy Fawkes’s failed attempt to blow up the Houses of Parliament! Meet at BISC for soup and rolls around the bonfire & try lighting a sparkler too! Afterwards, we will walk up to Clifton Downs together for a spectacular firework display. Starts at BISC at 4.30pm. 'The Design & Origin of Man'
Ever wondered about the origin of mankind and how we were designed? Did we descend from apes or were we created by God or were we part of a big bang here by chance? Christianity Explored
starts Wednesday 16th November
Christianity Explored is an informal course for people who would like to investigate Christianity. It explores who Jesus was, what his aims were, and what it means to follow him. You're not asked to pray, sing, or read aloud, and you can ask any question you like. Or, if you prefer, you can come along and simply listen. We meet on Wednesday evenings at 6.30pm with a meal, talk and discussion. Starts Wednesday 16th November. The course runs over 10 weeks; 5 weeks this term and 5 the next term. We start with a meal together, then have a short talk before a time of group discussion where you can ask questions. It costs just £2 each time for a 2 course home cooked meal.

Stonehenge & Salisbury Cathedral - FULLY BOOKED!

In the morning we visit Stonehenge, Britain’s famous ancient stone circle, for an audio tour of the mystical stones. Then we journey to Salisbury for a guided tour of the Cathedral –one of the finest Medieval Cathedrals in Britain, with the tallest spire in England! Includes free time to explore the city. Lord of the Dance
Tuesday 22nd November
Enjoy a trip to the theatre to watch Michael Flatley’s award winning ‘Lord of the Dance’ -a Celtic dance and music extravaganza, based on Irish folklore. This spectacular and energetic show, featuring contemporary Irish dance, is not to be missed! We have tickets in the front row of the Upper Circle. Price £25 (usually £32.50!). Book early to avoid disappointment. The show starts at 8.00pm at the Bristol Hippodrome. Meet beforehand for a pre-show drink at 7pm outside the Bristol Hippodrome Theatre (optional), or just arrive for the show.

Do you like jazz?
Each month BISC runs a ‘Jazz Walk’ to listen to live jazz music at ‘The Old Duke’ pub. Why not join the Jazz Walk, which takes place once a month, on a Monday evening. Great music and a great way to meet new people!
